New and Improved Campfire Stories!

by Lindsay 8/18/2009 10:35:00 AM

We have finally added much needed functionality to WritingRoom's Campfire Stories!

Campfire Stories (located under the Activties tab) are an interactive way of having fun and improving your writing skills. It is like sitting around a campfire with your friends, one person starts the story and your friends add to it. With an unlimited number of participants, you can never tell what will happen.

With our new functionality, the creator of the story now has the ability to edit and/or delete all entries as well as the story's details such as the title, introduction, story closing details, etc.

Contribut0rs to the story can now opt to be notified by email when the story is updated. This will keep everyone involved and the stories rolling.

Campfire stories can be fun as well as great tools for polishing your writing skills.

Hope to see you there soon!

Summer is almost gone...

by Lindsay 8/4/2009 11:49:00 PM

As the month of July comes to an end so does the July poetry and short story contest.

The opening of August brings the opening of the August poetry and short story contest.  The prizes are the same as the past monthly contests; a $50 check and copy of the anthology will be presented to both the winner in the poetry and short story contest. A runner-up in each contest will also receive a copy of the anthology.

This monthly contest is part of the yearly September 08-September 09 poetry and short story contest, where one grand-prize winner from each contest will receive $250.

Remember to check out the contest anthologies that are now available at the PublishingRoom bookstore.

Best of luck to all!
